Chris Sutton has joked on Twitter that Alfredo Morelos probably missed his punch in a reported post-match bust-up with Rangers teammate Greg Docherty.
The Daily Record claim that striker Morelos and midfielder Docherty were involved in a furious tunnel exchange in the immediate wake of the Light Blues’ crushing Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic on Sunday.
It is said that the Rangers pair had to be pulled apart by teammates as they clashed in front of stunned onlookers, including members of the Celtic backroom team, moments after the final whistle had sounded on the 4-0 derby demolition.
BT Sport pundit and former Hoops striker Sutton could not resist the chance to have a dig at Morelos on social media on Monday morning, joking on his personal Twitter account that the player “had a free shot and missed”.

On another derby day of misery for Rangers, midfielder Andy Halliday was also seen mouthing off in the direction of Graeme Murty after he suffered the humiliation of being substituted four minutes before half-time with his side 2-0 down.
Football Insider verdict:
In his Celtic career, Sutton didn’t miss too many open goals, and he has been given one by reports of a tunnel bust-up between two of Rangers’ younger players. It will be open day on the Gers flops after their meltdown at Hampden, with the pundits and fans who follow Scottish football wading into those who wear the blue shirt. It comes with the territory of playing for such a prestigious and historic club. Win and you’re a hero. Lose, especially an Old Firm, and you’re going to get it in the neck come what May.
