Chris Sutton uses one brutal word to describe Rangers after defeat v Hearts
By Amir Mir
Chris Sutton has stated that Rangers were “mauled” against Hearts in their Scottish Premiership clash at Tynecastle on Wednesday night.
Mark Warburton’s team were thrashed 4-1 by Ian Cathro’s men as goals from Krystian Nowak, a Jamie Walker brace and Don Cowie helped them record all three points.
This despite Emerson Hyndman levelling the scores after 36 minutes as both teams went into the break level.
However, a spirited performance after the interval from the home team saw them score three goals in the space of 15 minutes.
After the game, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton lauded the display of Cathro’s side but was brutal on the opposition team as posted on his personal Twitter account.
“Well done to Ian Cathro, brilliant performance,” said Sutton. “Rangers were mauled but Hearts superb on the night.”
On the same night the Gers were being beaten by Hearts, their Old Firm rivals were extending their lead at the top of the SPL table even further.
Brendan Rodgers side maintained their unbeaten run on the domestic circuit as they beat third-placed Aberdeen 1-0 on home soil.
That defeat for the Dons means, they remain two points behind second-placed Rangers in the table, but Aberdeen do have a game in hand on their rivals.
Warburton’s side have played 23 league games this season, picking up 42 points from those matches, but they are a mammoth 25 points behind the Bhoys.
The Gers will be looking to bounce back from this defeat when they take on Ross County at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton also used this amusing dig to highlight the gulf between the Old Frim duo.
