Christian Eriksen, Wan-Bissaka respond to Harry Maguire’s update at Man United

Harry Maguire has taken to social media to share an update from the Man United training camp ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

At 32 years of age, the centre-back continues to play a key role at Old Trafford, even despite the arrivals of Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven, with Lisandro Martinez yet to return from injury.

Maguire is seen as irreplaceable at Man United, alongside Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo, and Yoro, and Ruben Amorim requires a solid set of players as he attempts to rebuild the squad.

He played a total of 40 games across all competitions last season, even scoring two goals to help the Red Devils reach the Europa League final before losing out to Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham side.

While supporters will be hoping for a plethora of new signings alongside Matheus Cunha and, potentially, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Maguire is prepared for yet another campaign with United.

Taking to Instagram (11 July), Maguire shared an update from the training ground, writing: “Back at it,” with love heart and flexed muscle emojis, gaining likes from Christian Eriksen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The 32-year-old is one of the most experienced heads in the dressing room, and if Amorim is to rebuild the current squad, he is likely to remain a key figure at Old Trafford.

Football Insider verdict

With United finishing 15th in the Premier League last season and unable to pip Spurs to a European title, supporters will be expecting massive changes to the squad ahead of next term.

Cunha has already been signed from Wolves, and Football Insider understands that Mbeumo will be a Man United player for the 2025/26 campaign despite ongoing drama around the transfer.

Amorim is under serious pressure already, despite only being in charge since November, but the former Sporting CP figure deserves a summer transfer window under his belt.

It remains to be seen how big a role Maguire will be playing next season, especially once Martinez returns from injury, but it is important to have experienced minds in the squad right now.

That is exactly why Tom Heaton has been tied down to a new deal, why Jonny Evans has joined the staff at Old Trafford, and the likes of Casemiro, Fernandes, and Luke Shaw will likely stay this summer.

Next season is likely to be another difficult one as the Red Devils continue to change and adapt to the new manager’s style of play, but if he can sign the right players, that should be much easier.
