Christiansen sends message to Lasogga's wife after sensational Leeds debut
By Harry Sykes
Thomas Christiansen has revealed that he will urge Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s wife not to give birth until after Leeds United’s clash against Birmingham on Tuesday night.
The new Leeds striker’s partner is in advanced labour and is due to give birth to their first child in their native Germany this weekend.
Lasogga was able to make his debut for his new club on Saturday and responded with a memorable double as United demolished Burton Albion 5-0.
Manager Christiansen is keen to call upon Leeds’ new hero once again on Tuesday when they host Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham at Elland Road and relayed the message that he hopes Lasogga’s baby does not arrive until immediately after the match.
“I have to have a direct line with his wife to tell her not to have the baby until Tuesday night,” Christiansen said, as quoted by the BBC Sport website.

“He scored two nice goals but he also combined well and held the ball up which is very important.
“He started the game after only a few days with the team and his performance and two goals will help him a lot to get that confidence.”
Lasogga joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Bundesliga big hitters Hamburg on deadline day after being deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
Leeds’ convincing win lifted them to second in the Championship table, with a haul of 14 points out of a possible 18 from their six matches to date.
Manager Christiansen has overseen an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions since taking the helm, including six victories.
