Christiansen delivers honest Leeds transfer update
By Danny Wright
Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen has revealed that he is still on the lookout for new signings this summer, but insists that he is taking a “calm” approach.
The Whites have been one of the most active teams in the Championship during the current transfer window with a stunning ten players signing up for the club.
Pontus Jansson and Hadi Sacko made their switches to Elland Road permanent and have been joined by Mateusz Klich, Madger Gomes, Felix Wiedwald, Vurnon Anita, Caleb Ekuban, Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski and most recently Matthew Pennington.
However Christiansen will no doubt have left the fans excited with his latest transfer update, where he suggests that he isn’t quite done yet.
“We are looking at it in a calm way,” the United boss said, as quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay on his personal Twitter account on Thursday.
Leeds have been making good progress this summer under the new leadership of Christiansen, who replaced Garry Monk as boss in June.
The Dane has wasted no time in bolstering his squad ahead of next season, where Leeds will be expected to once again to battle for a spot in the play-offs.
Many would suggest that the Whites should be in the market for another central defender, despite Pennington’s recent arrival from Everton on loan.
Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper remain the only other two options in the position with the big Swede suspended for the first two matches of the campaign.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have announced a new member of their backroom staff.
