Christopher Nkunku reacts to message from Ousmane Dembele as Chelsea exit looms
Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku has fallen out of favour at Chelsea despite scoring 14 goals across all competitions last term.
The France international also scored in a 4-1 win over Benfica last month, en route to the Stamford Bridge outfit’s Club World Cup triumph.
But Nkunku, who can operate as both an attacking midfielder and a winger, is below the likes of Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez in Enzo Maresca’s pecking order.
Meanwhile, Maresca has further strengthened his wide options, as Chelsea signed Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

Nkunku reacts to PSG star Dembele’s message as Chelsea exit beckons
Nkunku’s best performances for Chelsea last season arrived in the Conference League, where he scored seven goals in 11 appearances.
Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, former Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness revealed that he expects Nkunku to leave Chelsea.
Meanwhile, taking to Instagram on Thursday, 17 July, PSG forward Ousmane Dembele wrote: “Thank you all for the support during this incredible season. We wrote history together.
“We continue together, I love you, Paris!”
Dembele’s emotional message received a like from Nkunku.
Nkunku should be wary of Manchester United interest
Football Insider verdict
Former Old Trafford chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Manchester United are interested in Nkunku.

Nkunku’s ability to play as both a winger and an attacking midfielder suggests that he could be an ideal candidate to operate in Ruben Amorim’s double ‘number 10’ pivot behind the main striker.
However, the Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves, while star man Bruno Fernandes is at his best when he plays in an attacking role.
Meanwhile, Man United are closing in on Bryan Mbeumo, who shone for Brentford last term, notching 20 goals and seven assists in 38 Premier League appearances.
The Cameroon international is in line to enjoy plenty of game time at the Old Trafford club next term, potentially alongside both Fernandes and Cunha.
Amad Diallo also remains a strong attacking option for Amorim, so Nkunku could face a similar situation to the one he has encountered at Chelsea if he moves to the North West.
