Sources: Player to feature for Leeds today & head straight to PL club for talks

Jack Clarke is set to be in the Leeds United squad for today’s Championship clash against Fulham before heading to Tottenham for talks with Jose Mourinho, Football Insider understands.

The on-loan Spurs winger may be involved for his boyhood club for the final time in this afternoon’s 3pm kick-off at Craven Cottage.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that the club are ready to exercise their mid-season recall option in Clarke’s loan to Leeds.

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that the 19-year-old has been invited to Spurs’ Premier League clash against Chelsea tomorrow and will hold talks about his future with Mourinho, who has yet to meet him since taking over the north London club.

The source explained there is a good chance that Clarke will remain with Tottenham and start training with them rather than Leeds.

He has been a fringe figure at Elland Road all season despite being fit and available for selection following his transfer to Tottenham for an initial £9.5million.

He has made just one league appearance and been a virtual permanent fixture on the substitute’s bench, as was the case once again in the 3-3 draw against Cardiff City last weekend.

Clarke is likely to be on the bench once again for today’s top-of-the-table fixture against Leeds’ fellow promotion hopefuls Fulham.

As revealed by Football Insider, the west London club are among those keen to sign him on loan in January along with Middlesbrough and Derby County, while Nottingham Forest have also been credited with an interest.

In other Leeds United news, Football Insider can reveal that the club are working on late-December signing as they aim to use the ‘Bielsa factor’ to get deal over the finish line today.
