'Class above', 'Magic', 'Solid' - West Ham fans in meltdown after latest transfer report

West Ham United are believed to be interested in making a summer swoop on West Brom defender Jonny Evans, according to a report, and fans are delighted.

The Sun states that the Hammers will offer the Birmingham club £3million despite reportedly turning down £30m for the player in January.

Evans has been one of the Baggies best performers this season even though they face an uncertain future in the Premier League with relegation hanging over them.

The 30-year-old has a clause in his contract which can be triggered if West Brom are relegated from the top-flight at the end of this campaign, and according to the Daily Mail, he rejected a £100,000-per-week deal to stay at the club in February.

News of the possible transfer has been welcomed by supporters of the Hammers who would seemingly welcome the Northern Irishman with open arms.

Fans have already started to suggest that if he were to make the switch to the capital then he would be their best defender.

But there were also words of caution – some stated that although they wanted Evans, they believed the player would be destined for a bigger club.

An insider of the club confirmed that they would be interested in the enforcer as well as Salomon Rondon and Ben Foster in a touted triple swoop.
