‘Clubs are looking’ at signing Crysencio Summerville as Leeds United deal suggested – pundit

Crysenco Summerville could be in line for a new Leeds United deal after his blistering start to the season.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future.

Summerville, 21, scored in Leeds’ last match before the break, against Spurs, as well as in the three Premier League games prior – after making his first top-flight start against Leicester in late October.

He became the focal point of the side in the final weeks of the first half of the season and is now one of the club’s most important players.

The Netherlands Under-21 international, who penned a new contract at Elland Road during the off-season, is the Whites’ second-top scorer despite playing just 468 league minutes.

Despite only signing a new deal in the summer, McManus claims a new deal could be on the cards.

“We don’t know what was in that deal he signed,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“But I doubt it covers the things he is doing in the squad now. When he signed that deal he was a fringe player, now he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

“He should have a deal that reflects that, in my opinion. Leeds won’t want to lose him as well so they need to keep him happy.

“It would not surprise me if clubs are looking at him already even though he has only just really made a name for himself.

“I really like him and I’m sure the club do too so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sign a new deal that reflects his new role pretty soon.

“That would be the sensible move.”
