Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz react as Liverpool issue new Alisson reveal

Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz have reacted after Liverpool issued a new update focusing on Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

The Brazilian shotstopper has become a hugely popular figure at Anfield since he joined the club from Roma back in the summer of 2018.

He has been firmly established as first choice between the posts throughout his time on Merseyside, proving key to the club’s success in that period.

Indeed, Alisson helped Liverpool charge to the Premier League title this season, to further cement his legacy at the club, something which is now set to be highlighted even further.

Alisson set for new documentary

On Monday (16 June), it was announced that the goalkeeper will be the subject of an in-depth look into his experience of that title-winning campaign.

The Reds have confirmed the imminent release of a documentary taking a behind the scenes look at the Brazilian’s experiences over the course of the season.

Although the season ended positively with that title win, there were also difficult spells that the 32-year-old was forced to endure.

Alisson was unavailable for several months for Liverpool due to injury, an experience which will have been more frustrating for him.

After the club announced the documentary on their Instagram page, some of the goalkeeper’s teammates were keen to show their support, with Diaz and Gakpo both liking the post.

Liverpool facing big goalkeeper decision soon

Football Insider Verdict

A documentary such as this feels like a nice touch as a way of recognising the service and success that Alisson has helped bring to Anfield over the years.

Even so, there will still be questions about what might be to come for the goalkeeper, who has just two years remaining on his contract with the Reds.

Earlier this season, Football Insider was told that Alisson is one of the players who could be moved on by Liverpool in the next few years.

With Giorgi Mamardashvili set to complete his move from Valencia this summer, they do have someone who will want to challenge for that first choice role in the near future.

That will further add to the questions around the future of the Brazilian, who regardless of what happens will still go down as a Liverpool legend.
