Cody Gakpo tipped to be ‘real hit’ for Liverpool after journalist’s update – expert
PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo is ready for the Premier League amid interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, according to Paul Robinson.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England number one is adamant the 22-year-old “would be a real hit” having watched him closely this season while working on the Eredivisie.
Gakpo has been one of the standout players in the Netherlands this season, with 31 goal contributions to his name across all competitions.
According to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (21 March), Liverpool and Arsenal have held “serious conversations” about the winger.
His contract with the Dutch giants runs until the summer of 2026, but there is said to be an understanding between player and club that if a suitable offer arrives, PSV will cooperate.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his insight on Gakpo, Robinson said: “I’m a big fan of his.
“I think he would be a real hit in the Premier League, especially at a club like Liverpool.

“The Eredivisie is renowned for unearthing talented players and Gakpo could be the next. I think there is three or four players in that league that could move across to the Premier League and make an impact. Gakpo is certainly one of them.
“I’ve watched a fair bit of him this season and I think he’s good enough to play for a top-four club. He’s an exciting forward and he’s at the right age.”
