Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella react to ‘strong’ Jadon Sancho Chelsea message
Jadon Sancho took to social media after Chelsea beat Brentford 2-1 as his teammates raved about his performance.
The Blues moved to within two points of the top of the table after defeating their West London rivals at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (15 December).
Although still in second place, they gained ground in the title race as Liverpool were held to a controversial draw against Fulham, but were reduced to ten men after the final whistle. Arsenal and Manchester City also dropped points, further boosting their title hopes.
Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, has seen an upturn in form despite being in and out of Enzo Maresca’s side.
Following the match, he shared his thoughts on Instagram, calling it a “Strong team performance”.
While teammate Cole Palmer appeared frustrated during a counter-attack Sancho squandered, the two clearly patched things up, and commented, “My boy”.
Other teammates, including Romeo Lavia and Moisés Caicedo, joined in with positive emojis, and Marc Cucurella described Sancho’s display as “Fútbol champagne”.
Chelsea attacking quality sets them apart from their title rivals
Maresca’s side has netted 37 league goals this season — more than any other team this term. The former Borussia Dortmund winger has added to that with 5 goals and assists in limited minutes.
Their depth in attack is a significant advantage compared to their title rivals as it’s depth which others simply don’t have.

Arsenal, by contrast, have struggled in front of goal, with fans voicing frustration over Gabriel Jesus, who has managed just one league goal this calendar year.
Chelsea, on the other hand, boast a wealth of attacking talent that rotates seamlessly. Marc Guiu stole the show in Astana in the Conference League, while Christopher Nkunku also regular scores in the competition.
However, this level of competition might leave some players concerned about first-team opportunities, with Nkunku even being linked to a potential move away.
Maresca has so far made his rotation strategy work brilliantly. Despite the Italian downplaying their title chances, he’s already being touted for Manager of the Season — and deservedly so. It’s been a remarkable turnaround for a side heavily criticised during the summer.
In other news, Josh Acheampong’s brilliant displays could mean the end of a Chelsea player.
