Cole Palmer and Reece James respond after emotional Chelsea exit confirmed
Cole Palmer and Reece James joined Chelsea teammates to respond to a heartfelt message after an exit from the club was confirmed.
Chelsea ended their season on a high, lifting the Conference League trophy and securing qualification for next season’s Champions League.
With momentum on their side, the Blues are now preparing for the Club World Cup, which kicks off on Sunday (15 June). The tournament will feature some of Europe’s biggest names, including Real Madrid, PSG, and Manchester City.
Chelsea moved quickly in the transfer window to sign Liam Delap ahead of the competition but fell short in attempts to land Mike Maignan and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
While the window will briefly pause for the duration of the tournament, Chelsea have allowed one of their players to depart, joining another club also taking part in the competition.

Chelsea stars react as Marcus Bettinelli seals move to Man City
After four seasons at Stamford Bridge, it was confirmed on 10 June that Marcus Bettinelli has officially completed a move to Manchester City.
The goalkeeper shared an emotional farewell with Chelsea fans on Instagram, writing: “It’s been an absolute honour to represent this fantastic club for the last 4 years.
I have loved every minute of it and wishing the boys and the staff and the fans nothing but success going forward. Been a pleasure.”
The post was met with an outpouring of support from teammates past and present. Palmer responded with a sad face emoji, Mason Mount wrote: “What a guy!” and James reacted with a tear-faced emoji.
Others also showed their appreciation by liking the post, including Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, Moises Caicedo and club legend John Terry.
With Scott Carson officially departing Man City, Bettinelli is expected to serve as his replacement.
Despite not featuring for Chelsea since an FA Cup tie against Chesterfield in January 2022, he is part of the squad heading into the Club World Cup.
Chelsea ready to offload Axel Disasi amid summer shake-up

Although the transfer window is temporarily paused for the Club World Cup, Chelsea remain active behind the scenes and are preparing further departures following Bettinelli’s exit.
Football Insider has revealed that Chelsea are open to offers for Axel Disasi after his loan spell at Aston Villa.
The French defender struggled to impress under Unai Emery, with fans voicing frustration over his inconsistent displays.
With Chelsea aiming to strengthen at the back ahead of their Champions League return, and already managing an overcrowded squad, Disasi is among those expected to be moved on to make space for new arrivals.
