Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia respond as Chelsea announce new signing
Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia joined teammates in reacting as Chelsea confirmed their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea ended the campaign in style after winning the Conference League and securing a return to the Champions League in Enzo Maresca’s first season in charge.
Palmer was central to Chelsea’s European triumph, producing two quickfire assists in the final in a standout performance.
Lavia, however, was not included in the European squad due to injury earlier in the season, having endured a frustrating campaign riddled with setbacks,
But despite missing out on the final, both he and Palmer were in high spirits online as Chelsea confirmed the arrival of another former Manchester City academy graduate.

Chelsea complete Liam Delap signing from Ipswich
Just days into the summer transfer window, Chelsea have confirmed their first signing with the arrival of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.
The club made the announcement on Instagram with the caption: “Liam Delap, welcome to our house” which drew reactions from across the squad.
Palmer, Lavia, and fellow former Manchester City academy graduate Morgan Rogers were among those who liked the post.
Chelsea fans had been calling for Delap to sign after reports emerged that he favoured a move to Stamford Bridge over rival offers from Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle were also keen on Delap, but primarily viewed the striker as a back-up option to Alexander Isak, which may have pushed him further toward West London.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a standout campaign, netting 12 Premier League goals and providing two assists—surpassing Chelsea’s own Nicolas Jackson, who managed 10 league goals in the same period.
Delap’s previous working relationship with Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca during their time at Manchester City’s academy may have also played a key factor in his decision.

Chelsea open to selling Noni Madueke this summer
As new arrivals come in, exits are expected to follow, and Noni Madueke has emerged as a potential departure from Chelsea.
The Blues are said to be open to offers for the winger, with Aston Villa and Tottenham both interested in securing Madueke’s signature.
Madueke scored just seven Premier League goals this season, and with the Blues eyeing reinforcements in wide areas, his future at the club remains uncertain.
A summer move could be on the cards, particularly if Chelsea land one of their key winger targets in the coming weeks.
