Cole Palmer horrific, Noni Madueke dazzles – England player ratings vs Andorra
Cole Palmer was spared his blushes by Chelsea teammate Noni Madueke as England claimed an unconvincing 1-0 win over Andorra.
The Three Lions maintained their 100% record in their World Cup qualification campaign, thanks to a winner from Harry Kane.
But whilst Thomas Tuchel‘s side never looked in danger of conceding, England lacked any real sense of cutting edge in their attacking play.
Madueke was one of the few players to offer a real threat, and he picked out Kane in the 50th minute to open the scoring for the away side.
England’s next match will be a friendly against Senegal on 10 June at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.

England claim unconvincing win over Andorra
Jordan Pickford – 6
Zero saves to make, tidy distribution, the Everton goalkeeper essentially acted as an on-field coach, given Andorra’s inability to progress past the halfway line.
Curtis Jones (off for Rice 80′) – 7
Impressive out of position. Jones has carved out a surprising niche as a makeshift fullback for both club and country this season, but the 24-year-old spurned an opportunity to score in the first half, thanks to a heavy touch.
Ezri Konsa – 7
Chelsea have their sights set on signing Konsa, and the Aston Villa defender has quietly made himself an indispensable member of the Three Lions, although he won’t have many easier opponents than Andorra. Was on hand to deny a late surge from the minnows.
Dan Burn – 7
Calm and composed. The Newcastle man had few issues dealing with Andorra’s anaemic attacking threat.
Reece James – 8
The 25-year-old offers such a unique threat from fullback, combining the more classical approach of offering an overlap to his winger whilst also being capable of playing passes as well as any world-class midfielder. If he can remain healthy, he is a lock for a starting XI place at the 2026 World Cup.

Jude Bellingham endures frustrating England performance
Jude Bellingham (off for Gibbs-White 90′) – 4
Wasteful. The Real Madrid star tore Andorra to pieces with his Frank Lampard-esque late runs into the box, but wasted every chance that was afforded to him. A frustrating afternoon for the 21-year-old.
Jordan Henderson (off for Alexander-Arnold 64′) – 6
Henderson may make a stunning return to Sunderland this summer, and in his 84th appearance for the Three Lions, the Ajax midfielder was smart, if a little cautious, with his distribution of the ball.
Morgan Rogers (off for Gordon 80′) – 4
Rogers has been linked with a move to Arsenal, and whilst his talent is boundless, the 22-year-old cut an isolated figure on the right-hand side for England.
Cole Palmer (off for Eze 64′) – 3
Disappearing act. The expectations of continuously being the man to save Chelsea seem to be weighing heavily on Palmer, and he looked tired and off the pace against Andorra. A true stinker.
Noni Madueke – 9 – Player of the Match
Chelsea could sell Madueke this summer, and the winger was rewarded for his dazzling display when Kane turned home his cross to open the scoring.

Harry Kane scores England opener v Andorra
Harry Kane – 7
72 and counting. Kane extended his record as England’s all-time top goal-scorer, but he may have been a little dissatisfied to only score once against Andorra after having plenty of opportunities.
Substitutes
Eberechi Eze (on for Palmer 64′) – 5
Added energy to England’s attack but lacked any real end product to either his chance creation or goal-scoring.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (on for Henderson 64′) – 6
Flipped between midfield and defence and was tidy in possession after coming on.
Declan Rice (on for Jones 80′) – 7
Immediately added more impetus to the midfield, showing the gulf between himself and Henderson in a brief cameo.
Anthony Gordon (on for Rogers 80′) – 5
Hardly had a touch of the ball after coming on.
Morgan Gibbs-White (on for Bellingham 90′) – N/A
Gibbs-White was not on the pitch long enough to have an impact on proceedings.
