Cole Palmer predicts scoring four goals ahead of Chelsea win as footage emerges

Chelsea and England star Cole Palmer predicted that he would score four goals in a game this season ahead of doing so against Brighton.

The 22-year-old put four past the Seagulls on Saturday (28 September) as the Blues continued their impressive start to the season by winning 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.

It was a memorable performance from the attacking midfielder, who scored a penalty, a freekick, and two goals from open play to help his team pick up three points.

However, it wasn’t something that will have shocked the youngster as he predicted doing so at the start of the season.

Chelsea shared an old video of Palmer doing a celebration video with broadcasters ahead of the campaign when he was told to gesture scoring a hat-trick.

Palmer showcased his confidence by saying, “What about four,” before going on to pose that way.

Cole Palmer has no shortage of confidence at Chelsea

Palmer became the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half as he looks to continue on from his impressive debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The England international finished last season as the second-highest goalscorer behind only Erling Haaland with 22 goals.

He has continued in the same form throughout the start of this campaign, scoring six goals and providing four assists in Chelsea’s first six games.

The victory took Chelsea into fourth place before the Liverpool fixture and continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League since the opening-day loss against Man City.

The Blues will be back in action on Thursday (3 October) as they kick off their Europa Conference League campaign against Gent.
