Cole Palmer’s stance on Chelsea transfer revealed after Man United reveal
Cole Palmer has no plans to leave Chelsea soon despite recent rumours linking him with a move to boyhood team Man United.
Palmer has developed into one of the world’s best players during his time at Chelsea, but has struggled to get going this season amid ongoing injury issues.
He has only started 10 Premier League games so far, but has still registered eight goals and four assists in his 20 appearances across all competitions.
Chelsea fans have criticised Palmer for some poor performances as he struggles to reach full fitness, and doubts around his future have emerged as a result.
It has been reported that the 23-year-old is homesick in London and would be open to joining Man United, who he supported as a child, but there are no immediate plans in place for him to leave Chelsea, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast.

Chelsea have no plans to lose Palmer and he is happy at the club
Liam Rosenior‘s recent appointment as the Blues’ new boss has seen Palmer return to form, with a goal and two assists in his last two outings against Brentford and Napoli.
The England international will now be focused on being a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup plans, with a move to United unlikely, as his Chelsea contract runs until 2033.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “He’s a boyhood Man United fan, but look…Cole Palmer is happy at the club, so Chelsea have quickly moved to shoot down those rumours and end any speculation before it gathers any pace.
“I’m sure Manchester United would be interested in Cole Palmer if there was any slight chance of landing him but it would be such a difficult deal to do.“
Palmer among numerous Chelsea stars who want to sign a new contract
Palmer signed a massive nine-year contract extension in 2024 to tie him to Stamford Bridge until 2033, but recent rumours linking him to United could mean that he is set to sign fresh terms once more soon.
Ex-Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness has told Football Insider that Palmer is set to demand an improved Chelsea deal, with links away potentially being driven to convince the club to offer him bigger wages.
Not only is the 23-year-old believed to be interested in another contract, but football finance expert Stefan Borson has told Football Insider that Levi Colwill, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo want to agree new deals at Chelsea.
The Blues’ wage bill is already believed to be the highest in the Premier League, at over £350million each season, and so it remains to be seen which players will be offered fresh terms in the months to come.
