A noted West Ham fan has pleaded for his club to make an attempt to lure Brendan Rodgers back to the English Premier League to manage his club.
talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams feels that his club are looking short-term in appointing David Moyes, as rumours have suggested will take place, and wants them to make Rodgers the man instead.
Speaking on talkSPORT 2, Abrahams said “They should show some ambition and fly up to Glasgow and open a suitcase and say ‘how much Brendan?’
“Having made history at the weekend with Celtic, what more has Brendan Rodgers got to achieve up there?
“Brendan Rodgers is by far and away the best, and I think if West Ham had real ambition they wouldn’t just plan for the interim.”
Despite the pleadings of Abrahams, it seems unlikely that Rodgers will make the step down from Champions League football to a Premier League relegation battle.
Slaven Billic was sacked by West Ham earlier today after a 4-1 defeat to Liverpool left them in the relegation zone, David Moyes is set to be appointed manager until the end of the season.
Brendan Rodgers made history at the weekend by leading the Hoops to their 63rd domestic game in a row without defeat, setting a new British record in the process.
