Confirmed Celtic line-up v Rangers: 25-year-old attacker axed

By Matt Farr

Brendan Rodgers has named three changes to his Celtic side for their Scottish Cup semi final clash with rivals Rangers on Sunday.

Erik Sviatchenko drops out of the starting eleven, allowing Mikael Lustig to return to a Celtic back-four.

25-year-old attacker James Forrest and midfielder Tom Rogic are also axed by Rodgers, with Patrick Roberts and Dedryck Boyata return to the starting eleven.

Celtic announced their confirmed line-up on their official Twitter account ahead of kick-off.

Eight players retain their places in the side following the 2-2 draw with Ross County in the Scottish Premiership a week ago, including Scott Brown, who is available despite his red card.

Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen lie in wait in the Scottish Cup Final, following their victory over Hibernian on Saturday.

A win for Celtic will continue their dominance over their rivals this season, having won three of their previous four meetings with Rangers.

Meanwhile, it will also retain their hopes of winning a domestic treble, with the League Cup and Scottish Premiership titles already in the bag for Rodgers’ side.

But they are going up against a Rangers side that are undefeated under new manager Pedro Caixinha.
