The Blues ran riot against Mauricio Pochettino’s side at the weekend as they booked themselves a place in the FA Cup final and also earned a huge swing in momentum at the top of the table.
Spurs will have to wait 24 hours to give their answer to Chelsea’s result as they travel to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
History suggests that Southampton could prove a stern test at Stamford Bridge.
The Saints won 3-1 in this fixture last season and have only lost three of their last eight league meetings with the Blues.
Southampton’s league position will not change regardless of Tuesday’s result but they can move within one point of eighth-placed West Brom if they managed to pick up all three points.
In other Chelsea news, the club could lose out on this winger for £6.5million in the summer.
