Confirmed Leeds line-up v Brighton: 23-year-old handed playmaker role

By Harvey Byrne

Leeds have named an unchanged team to the side which beat Aston Villa 2-0 in the Championship last Saturday.

Manager Garry Monk has decided to keep Kemar Roofe in a central attacking midfield position after scoring his first goal for the club against Villa.

He had been mainly used out wide this season, but a report stated that the 23-year-old will now remain in the key playmaker position.

Leeds revealed the team news on their official Twitter account ahead of the Friday evening Championship clash against Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

The Yorkshire giants are currently flying high in the Championship table, occupying fourth place.

However, Brighton are one of few clubs above Leeds in England’s second tier in second place and will prove to be difficult foes.

Just two places separate the two teams, but there is a seven-point gap between the duo.

Leeds have won five of their last six Championship clashes with the only defeat coming against league leaders Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Brighton have drawn two of their last four encounters in the league.

The two teams last met in February in a match which saw the Seagulls run out 4-0 victors and Leeds will be keen to avoid a similar scoreline.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports 1 in the 7.45pm kick off.
