Confirmed line-ups: Striker duo start for Leeds v Birmingham, summer signing axed

By Tom Blackburn

Marcus Antonsson has been handed his first Leeds start for the team’s Championship clash against Birmingham on Saturday.

Garry Monk has rung the changes following the opening day 3-0 defeat to QPR last Sunday.

Summer signing Kemar Roofe is axed as Antonsson joins Chris Wood in a two-pronged attack, while Hadi Sacko has been given the nod to start on the wing ahead of Stuart Dallas and the former Oxford man.

Playmaker Pablo Hernandez makes his first league start after completing a loan switch last week.

The Yorkshire giants lost at Loftus Road before beating Fleetwood on penalties in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

Luke Ayling comes straight into the team after he became the latest part of Monk’s Elland Road revolution, joining on Thursday afternoon from Bristol City after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Alex Mowatt and Sol Bamba start, while Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper are overlooked after figuring against Fleetwood in midweek.

Bamba was expected to start on the bench with Cooper returning to a starting spot on Wednesday after an injury.
