Rangers senior duo suspended, investigation in process - confirmed

Rangers have confirmed that the senior duo of Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace have been suspended.

The Light Blues announced on their official Twitter account that no further comment will be made until the club ends it’s ongoing investigations into a ‘team related incident’.

STV have some more details on the suspensions, reporting that the pair have been told to stay away from Ibrox and the club’s training ground after the duo were reportedly very critical of manager Graeme Murty after the Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic on Sunday.

The duo will remain on full pay according to the report, and have not been fined by the Ibrox club.

It seems likely that the pair will never again play for the Ibrox club, as Miller is 38-years-old and Wallace has rarely featured this season due to a knee injury.

Whilst Gers fans will no doubt be pleased that the suspension has been dealt with quickly, the news of an investigation does sound ominous and it could mean that matters are set to drag on for a while longer, which is not good for the Gers as they aim to end the season with something to shout about. The shadow cast by this incident could well affect the club for the rest of the season, and it is vital that the investigation is concluded as quickly as possible. As for Wallace and Miller, it is a sad end to what has been good careers at Ibrox for the duo.
