Confirmed: Rangers set for imminent double boost as Murty details injury update

Rangers boss Graeme Murty has confirmed the club have welcomed Jordan Rossiter back into training while Kenny Miller is closing in on a return to full fitness after their respective injury layoffs.
Rossiter, 20, has had a torrid time with injuries since joining the club from English giants Liverpool on a free transfer in 2016, having managed to make just 10 appearances across all competitions in the season-and-a-half he has been at Ibrox.
He picked up a calf injury in just his sixth match for the Light Blues, and spent the remainder of the campaign on the sidelines, returning to make four outings this season before the injury flared up, keeping his out of action since September.
Meanwhile veteran forward Miller has been missing for the club’s last four league games after an ankle knock, but Murty has confirmed that both are back out and training in what will be an imminent boost to the squad.
He told Sky Sports on Monday: “We have Jordan Rossiter joining in training today which is good, not just for us but also for Jordan.
“Hopefully now there is a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel for him and we can get him involved on a regular basis. It is just making sure that when we actually get him in we build up his load and his level gradually.
“Kenny is getting close, he is hitting some good speeds in his rehab outside and if you know Kenny he is desperate to get back in, he is desperate to be involved.
“He is desperate to stake a claim and put a marker down with the new guys that are here.”
The Gers have not been in competitive action since their 0-0 draw with fierce rivals Celtic before the turn of the new year, taking to Florida to engage in some warm weather training, while their Scottish Cup match with Fraserburgh, which was scheduled for Sunday, was postponed as a result of the freezing conditions.
They return to action on Wednesday when they play host to flight rivals Aberdeen, knowing that they will leapfrog the Dons into second with victory as a result of their superior goal difference.
