'It's not normal' - In-form player raves about Leeds fans, end-of-season talks confirmed

By Richard Parks
Pierre-Michel Lasogga has raved about the red-hot atmosphere at Leeds United and revealed he will hold talks over his future at the end of the season.
The German forward arrived at Elland Road last August on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side Hamburg and has scored eight goals from 21 matches in all competitions.
Lasogga, 26, has recently returned to form after a fallow spell, scoring twice against Millwall last month and then an emphatic header in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United.
The German explained that he has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Elland Road after slipping down the Hamburg pecking order.
“It’s nice to play here because the fans are so close to the pitch, he said, as quoted by Leeds Live. “You feel every moment. It’s a special time for me.
“Of course I’m very happy that the fans are behind me like this. It’s not normal so I’m very confident when they say something like this.”
With his contract at the top flight German side set to expire in the summer of 2019, the 26-year-old admits his future is a big talking point but it will be put on hold until the campaign finishes in May.
“The decision is not now in my head, so after the season I will sit with my family and speak about the situation,” he said, as quoted by Leeds Live.
“I have a year left on my contract in Hamburg, so I need to speak first to them and then we will see what happens. I can’t say at the moment.”
Football Insider verdict:
Will Lasogga remain at Leeds? Will United want him to? It is all very well the striker blowing smoke up the backsides of his loan club but he is on mega wages – £50,000-a-week, according to German sources – and that type of paycheque requires a serious number of goals. The powerhouse striker started like a house on fire but then had an extended winter break as illness and injury took hold. He has recently started to look the real deal again but will need a sustained spell of goalscoring to convince Andrea Radrizzani to put his hand in his pocket and seal a big-money transfer.
