Confirmed Tottenham line-up: Defender makes comeback

By Harry Sykes

Danny Rose has returned to the Tottenham team for their Premier League clash against Swansea on Saturday.

But there is no place in the starting XI for Toby Alderweireld as the key centre-back misses a 10th consecutive match.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has made just one change to the Spurs team that lost 2-1 in the Premier League to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.

Rose comes in at left-back to replace Kevin Wimmer, who deputised in that position with mixed results last weekend.

Pochettino has kept faith with the other 10 players who started at Chelsea, as Son Heung-Min retains his place in the team.

Moussa Sissoko also returns to the matchday squad after being axed last weekend amid concern from Pochettino about the summer signing’s work ethic.

The Argentine manager had claimed that Alderweireld was closing in on a return after taking a full part in training this week but the Belgium international is not deemed to be fit enough and is omitted from the squad.
