Conor Bradley responds to Jarell Quansah’s message ahead of Liverpool exit

Jarell Quansah looks set to leave Liverpool in the coming days and will do so with another trophy under his belt.

Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have become increasingly intertwined in this summer’s transfer window with well over £100million exchanged already, in moves which will have ramifications for several players.

Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival came after Liverpool triggered his £29.5million release clause in the wake of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit, and he’s expected to battle Conor Bradley for the starting right-back spot.

Florian Wirtz’s club-record move naturally drew even more fanfare given his fee may eventually rise to £116.5m, but Liverpool are now set to receive an eight-figure fee of their own from the Bundesliga side.

Quansah claims England success before Leverkusen switch

Liverpool’s outlay of almost £200m so far this summer won’t come without moves the other way, with Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips set to be followed out of the exit door by Quansah.

Football Insider revealed on 20 June that Quansah had undergone a medical with Leverkusen after they agreed a £35m fee to sign the Liverpool defender, and his signing is expected to take place imminently.

The path for Quansah to complete his switch is now clear after England Under-21s concluded their campaign in the 2025 European Championships, culminating in a 3-2 victory over Germany in the final.

After Lee Carsley’s side secured back-to-back Under-21 Euros titles, Quansah posted the three-word message of “Champions of Europe” on Instagram (29 June), and his Liverpool team-mate Bradley responded to say: “Go on the boy”.

Football Insider Verdict

Quansah’s imminent move to Leverkusen will take Liverpool’s incoming transfer fees to almost £60m this summer, while also leaving a hole in their centre-back depth which Arne Slot will be eager to fill.

Marc Guehi has emerged as Liverpool’s top target to replace Quansah at the back, and Football Insider revealed on 20 June that the Crystal Palace captain is keen on a move to Anfield in a huge boost for Slot.

Guehi is likely to command a fee north of £50m despite having just a year left on his Palace contract, but his addition alongside either Frimpong or Bradley would give Liverpool a formidable right-sided setup in defence.
