Conor Coady names manager who would ‘100%’ get Rangers winning after Russell Martin sack

Conor Coady firmly believes their is one manager who Rangers should be targeting to bring to Ibrox after Russell Martin’s departure.

Coady was linked with a move to Rangers in the summer before joining Championship side Wrexham from Leicester City.

Martin was sacked after 123 days at Rangers, ending a disastrous reign which leaves the club eighth in the Scottish Premiership and two defeats from two in the Europa League.

Rangers are looking for their third permanent manager of the year, with the league title seemingly already out of reach.

Sean Dyche tipped to become new Rangers boss

Whilst Steven Gerrard has been linked with a return to Rangers, after winning the 2020-21 Scottish Premiership title with the club, Coady believes former Everton boss Sea Dyche should be considered.

Speaking on the Monday Night Club, [6 October], Coady said: “I think he’d be able to deal with it, we know he’s a very strong character.

Sean Dyche isn’t going to be a process manager, are the owners now going to change tact in what they’re doing and go we’re going to bring Sean Dyche in now cause he’s really strong and he’s going to get us winning.

How long does Sean Dyche stay for, Sean Dyche will get them winning that’s 100% a fact.

Dyche has been out of work since being sacked by Everton in January following a ten-year spell at Burnley.

Conor Coady reveals how close he was to joining Rangers

Martin’s fortunes at Rangers could have been slightly different if he had managed to sign Coady in the summer transfer window.

Coady has now revealed how close he came to moving to Ibrox.

I came close, I spoke to Russell Martin a lot in the summer and I loved what he said, Coady stated.

I loved how he spoke on the phone, and I’m really gutted how it turned out in terms of being up their because it is intense.

The opportunity to play up their would be unbelievable.”

The next Rangers manager will need to sort out the club’s defensive issues with the Gers under Martin having conceded 24 goals in 17 games.
