Conor Coady reacts to Leicester City’s transfer announcement amid Rangers interest
Conor Coady has reacted positively to Leicester City’s latest summer arrival, although the defender may soon be departing the club.
Coady joined Leicester in 2023 following a eight-year spell at Wolves and helped the Foxes to promotion back to the Premier League under Enzo Maresca.
The 32-year-old centre-back though was unable to stop Leicester returning to the Championship after just one season back in the top flight, and with relegation Coady may depart the King Power.
Rangers have showed interest in Coady as new manager Russell Martin begins to shape his squad ahead of his first season in the Ibrox hotseat.

Foxes find Hermansen replacement
Marti Cifuentes has been recently appointed the new boss at Leicester ahead of their Championship campaign after the sacking of Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Cifuentes has secured goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and Leicester’s announcement of the 38-year-old was liked by Coady.
Begovic was at QPR under Cifuentes and was most recently at Everton, where he served as a back up for Jordan Pickford.
Leicester could lose fellow goalkeeper Mads Hermansen this summer, with the Foxes planning to accept offers for the 25-year-old.
Coady next block in Rangers rebuild
Football Insider Verdict
As Leicester face a potentially challenging season in the Championship with a possible points deduction on the table, Coady’s experience would have been invaluable to the squad.
Instead it looks like Rangers and Martin will benefit from Coady’s leadership qualities as the Gers look to close the 17-point gap between them and Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

Martin has enjoyed a winning start to life at Ibrox following a 2-0 first-leg Champions League qualifying victory over Greek side Panathinaikos.
However, he needs to replace Robin Propper with a new centre-back after the 31-year-old left the club after just one season in Glasgow.
Defensively Rangers conceded too many soft goals last campaign, but Coady’s Premier League quality could instantly tighten up Martin’s back four.
There are still question marks around the future of goalkeeper Jack Butland, but the former England international was impressive against Panathinaikos.
Butland will therefore stay in-between the sticks for the second leg in Greece although Martin is sure to be keeping a close eye on his performances.
