Conor Hazard told to agree move after Celtic source’s reveal – pundit

Alan Hutton has told Conor Hazard to push for a loan move rather than a permanent Celtic exit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said Hazard will still believe he can push for the number one spot at Parkhead.

On 15 February, sources told Football Insider that the 24-year-old is on the lookout for a new club after failing to win over Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou.

The shot-stopper had an incredibly successful loan spell at HJK Helsinki last year helping them win the Finnish league and was between the sticks in the Europa League.

The Northern Ireland international was also named goalkeeper of the year before he returned to Celtic Park in the winter.

Hazard has only made eight appearances for the Celts since signing a professional deal in 2020 and has fallen behind Joe Hart, Benjamin Siegrist and even Scott Bain in the pecking order.

Hazard’s current deal expires in the summer and he could look for a permanent exit in search of regular game time.

But Hutton suggested a loan move would be the best option.

“I think if you look at the age of Siegrist, he obviously knows the league with Dundee United and he is a steady goalkeeper who can come in and handle it,” he told Football Insider.

Hart is your number one. So the likes of Hazard is going to be thinking he is going to be limited with game time.

Celtic

I think he will look to go out on loan.

I think he will still believe in himself that he will have that opportunity to even push for number two. I think a loan option is perfect for him.
