Constant speculation can only be a distraction as Rangers prepare for clash v Celtic
The constant speculation about the next Rangers manager can only be a distraction to Gers boss Graeme Murty as he prepares the Light Blues for a huge match against Celtic on Sunday.
The Gers boss has the unenviable task of facing the Hoops at Parkhead when a win will give them the league title, all the while speculation rages about the identity of the next Gers boss.
The Scottish Sun shocked the world by revealing that the Gers were in talks with Steven Gerrard, and there is no doubt that Murty will be asked about this development in the build-up to the game.
The distraction and news of a possible manager could perhaps galvanise the Gers into turning in an unexpected performance where they pick a point – or even three – in a bid to impress their new boss.
However, more likely to happen is that the Gers will fall to pieces and lose in an ignominious fashion, as happened in the recent Scottish Cup loss to Celtic.

Before that game of course, Gers supremo told the media – as reported by the Daily Record – that Murty wouldn’t be at Ibrox next season.
It remains to be seen if developments since then will be good or bad when it comes to affecting performances on the park, but you’ve got to think that the omens aren’t good.
