Conte ‘could walk’ in summer after Tottenham update revealed by Gold – pundit
Kevin Phillips expects “uncomfortable conversations” are being had behind the scenes at Tottenham regarding transfer plans.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 2000 European Golden Shoe winner said the summer window will be “a big test” for Antonio Conte and the club.
Spurs are yet to sign any players in the January window despite Conte openly wanting a number of new faces in north London.

According to Football.London‘s Alasdair Gold (13 January), players fear the Italian manager could walk in February if he’s not backed in this window.
However, Gold added that a meeting between Conte and the club’s hierarchy has allayed such fears.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Phillips said:
“He’s only just come through the door so I don’t think there’s anything to worry about at this stage.
“Naturally, he will be a bit frustrated because there has not been the movement he would have liked. You can tell by his actions on the touchline that he is a very passionate and perhaps impatient guy. He will want players through the door as early as possible so he can get the best out of them.
“There is likely some uncomfortable conversations going on in the background but he won’t let it effect what he is trying to do.

“It will be interesting to see who Spurs bring in before the window shuts.
“The summer will be the biggest test though. If he isn’t backed in the summer, big decisions may be made. He could walk. At the minute, I do not see him going anywhere.”
In other news, a pundit has claimed Tottenham could seal ‘signing of the summer’ after Sky transfer update.
