Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson would be among the casualties of a starting line-up comprised of the best Liverpool and Manchester City players.
The Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday night for a Premier League clash as two of the top four teams in the division clash.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently fourth-placed and will be looking to build on back-to-back victories over Burnley and Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Man City have a Champions League knockout clash against Monaco on Wednesday night to contend with, before turning their attention to Liverpool.
A host of big named players would miss out on a combined XI in what would be a star-studded line-up.
Both sides are extremely vulnerable in defence and it’s the Liverpool individuals who are mostly preferred in the side.
The Reds number one Simon Mignolet gets the nod ahead of his team-mate Loris Karius, plus Man City pair Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero.
The full-back positions are occupied by Liverpool duo Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner, despite the latter being a make-shift left-back as Pep Guardiola has continuously rotated those positions this season.
Liverpool’s strong summer signing Joel Matip would partner John Stones at centre-back, who still has massive talented despite making occasional mistakes.
The combined XI would have one defensive midfielder and Man City’s Fernandinho is the best of the bunch, edging out the likes of Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum from a starting position.
The attacking set-up would have Kevin De Bruyne and Sadio Mane providing the width, who have both been in sensational form this season.
Meanwhile, playmakers David Silva and Adam Lallana would bring a huge amount of creativity in the centre of the pitch.
Liverpool ace Coutinho may be a surprise omission from the XI for some people, but the Brazilian has looked poor since his return from injury and can’t compete based on current form.
They would spearhead the main striker of Sergio Aguero, who is streaks ahead of Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi.
In other Liverpool team news, Karius has sent a Twitter message to the club’s fans.
