Craig Bellamy makes ‘decision’ on accepting Celtic offer
Celtic have identified Wales manager Craig Bellamy as a potential appointment in the wake of Brendan Rodgers’ recent departure.
Craig Bellamy has done a decent job in charge of Wales since he was given the job in July 2024 following a stint as assistant manager to Vincent Kompany at Burnley.
They have only lost four of his 14 games in charge so far, and his credentials and potential to become a top coach have seen Celtic register their interest in his services.
Brendan Rodgers resigned as Celtic manager on Monday (27 October) due to irreparable difference with the board, and a number of names have been linked to the job while Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney take temporary charge.
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is a target but will be hard for Celtic to convince, while a new update on the likelihood of Bellamy taking the job has now emerged.

Bellamy all but out of Celtic race as he focuses on Wales
Wales currently sit third in Group J of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, just three points behind second-placed North Macedonia with a game in hand and two left to play.
They are now very unlikely to qualify for next summer’s tournament automatically, but coming second would put them into the play-offs, so next month’s games against Liechtenstein and North Macedonia are vital to their dreams of going to the USA.
Bellamy has been named as a candidate to take over at Celtic, but according to a new update from Sky Sports, he is “firmly focused on the future” with Wales and so will not entertain any talk around leaving his post.
That effectively rules him out of the running and narrows the Hoops’ search down even further as they look to make a relatively swift appointment despite O’Neill and Maloney leading their side to a 4-0 win against Falkirk in midweek.
Ange Postecoglou makes Celtic decision
Ange Postecoglou endeared himself to the Parkhead faithful during his successful spell as Celtic boss between 2021 and 2023, with successive Scottish Premiership triumphs and three cup wins before he left for Tottenham.
The Aussie boss was sacked by Spurs earlier this year before an ill-fated short time in charge of Nottingham Forest came to an end after their recent 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Celtic fans have urged their board to appoint Postecoglou once again following Rodgers’ exit, but he is not set to return anytime soon despite being sounded out for talks.
Postecoglou does not want to go back to Celtic as he looks to take some time out of the game after a tough spell at Forest.
The Hoops’ board have now suffered another setback in terms of a managerial target with Bellamy, and O’Neill and Maloney may well be in place for a few weeks yet as they try to identify a top target who definitely wants to become their new boss.
