Craig Gordon warns Celtic that teams will be scrambling to snap up this 25-year-old

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon believes that in a few years’ time, a number of teams will be looking to sign Stuart Armstrong.
The 25-year-old Hoops midfielder is yet to sign a new contract at Parkhead despite entering the final year of his current deal.
The former Dundee United star was in hot form for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season as they won the domestic treble without suffering a defeat, however his form has noticeably dipped as his contract situation has dragged on.
Much to the fans’ relief, the Sun has reported that Armstrong is now due to sign a new deal at Parkhead before the end of this week after it emerged that Swansea were looking to snap him up after they lost Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton.
However Gordon, 34, is sure that Armstrong will eventually make a statement about his future at Celtic Park and pen a new contract, much like he did last season after teams became interested in him.

The Hoops goalkeeper has also warned that once Armstrong’s form picks up again, a host of teams will be scrambling to sign him up once again.
“Last season there were bids for me and it took quite a few months to clear up the contract situation. That is just what happens,” said Gordon, as quoted by the Daily Record.
He added: “He came from Dundee United and it took him a wee bit of time to settle in but when he did he was one of our best players last season.
“Then he stepped up to international level and has played in the Champions League.
“Another few years here doing that and if he keeps progressing I am sure there will still be plenty of teams looking at him.”
Armstrong is yet to start a Scottish Premiership fixture for Celtic this season and he was also left on the bench in Wednesday night’s 5-0 hammering of Astana in the Champions League play-offs.
The two-times Scotland international was in rich form last season as he scored 17 goals and supplied seven assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
In other Celtic news, this rising Hoops star has agreed terms with a Championship side.
