‘Crazy’ – Pundit can’t believe source’s ‘huge’ news on Chelsea ace Armando Broja

Chelsea putting a £50million price tag on Armando Broja is “crazy” as he is not a top-level striker.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson was baffled that the Blues would demand such a fee considering his low goal tally this season.

As revealed by Football Insider (30 January), Fulham are still pushing to sign the Albania international before the end of the window, but his significant price tag is still proving prohibitive.

The 22-year-old has netted just twice across 19 appearances this season, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side would be willing to sell if his valuation is met.

Robinson praised Broja’s successful loan spell at Southampton in 2021-22 but claimed he has done little since to show he can justify such a hefty fee.

“He’s not proved it this season at the top level,” he told Football Insider.

“He hasn’t scored enough goals, which is exactly what Chelsea are struggling with this season.

“Is he going to be the one to score the goals?

“£50million is a huge overvaluation for a player who has struggled as much as he has this season, it’s crazy.

“He had one good loan move to Southampton where he did particularly well.

“But he’s struggling. If Fulham or anyone were to offer £50million, Chelsea would definitely look to sell.”
