Aaron Cresswell has heaped praise on former West Ham teammate Victor Moses ahead of Monday night’s London derby against Chelsea.
Moses, 26, is likely to come up against Cresswell on Chelsea’s right flank at the London Stadium, after spending the 2015-16 season on loan with the Hammers.
Ahead of tomorrow’s clash, England international Cresswell will have worried West Ham fans by labelling Moses as “fantastic” after reigniting his Chelsea career under Antonio Conte.
“Some people questioned if he would ever fulfil his potential,” Cresswell told the Hammers’ official website. “But since Conte has come in, he has arguably been one of their best players.
“His ability was never in question. He has fantastic talent and I remember playing against him in the Youth Cup when he was at Crystal Palace. He was 15 and you could see the ability.”
Former Wigan winger Moses had previously struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, which saw him move on loan to the likes of West Ham, Liverpool and Stoke City.
However, Conte’s 3-5-2 system has sparked a new lease of life in Nigeria international Moses, which has also seen him earn a new contract with the west London giants.
Now, Moses will be in buoyant mood ahead of Monday’s clash, with Cresswell preparing for a difficult test against Chelsea’s number 15.
A surprise three points against Chelsea for Slaven Bilic’s side could see the Hammers climb to ninth in the Premier League table, leapfrogging Southampton and Stoke.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have been handed a huge boost in the pursuit of this £15million-rated striker.
