‘Criminal’ – West Ham fans savage Tomas Soucek after display in 5-1 defeat to Liverpool

West Ham fans have massacred Tomas Soucek for his “horrendous” performance against Liverpool on Wednesday night (20 December).

Accusations of ball-watching, misplaced passes and “constant shadow chasing” have been levelled at the 28-year-old as the Irons were battered 5-1 at Anfield in the League Cup quarter-final.

A Curtis Jones brace and goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Mohammed Salah sunk West Ham while Jarrod Bowen’s well-taken effort was the only reward for the travelling Hammers faithful.

While the whole starting XI stunk the place out, the defensive midfielder’s dismal display mustered just 35 touches, 16 successful passes, no shots and no interceptions.

The shine of his seven-goal haul in all competitions is beginning to wear off, and fans have taken to social media to berate the “worst footballer in the Premier League”.

One fan found it “incredible” that the Czech failed to complete simple passes.

Soucek scores some big goals for us, and is a lovely guy, but he simply cannot continue to start matches for us in midfield.
