Industry insider Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that the 26-year-old is on Madrid’s list of potential targets for the summer.
Carlo Ancelotti is aiming to strengthen his defensive options as Brown previously revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join the Spanish giants.
Romero could follow the Liverpool full-back out of the Premier League as it’s believed he would be keen to move if Madrid made an offer.

Romero is currently away from Tottenham while all of this transfer speculation is taking place as he is on international duty with Argentina.
Playing for his country might be a welcome break for Romero, both from the rumours and Spurs’ underwhelming season.

Tottenham want a ‘huge’ offer for Romero
Football Insider revealed back in November that Spurs will demand a “huge” offer for Romero if they are to consider selling him in the summer.
Romero is under contract at the club until 2027, which puts the Londoners in a strong position for any potential negotiations.
The Argentina international has only played 14 times in the Premier League this season due to injuries, but Ange Postecoglou is looking to retain him.
