Cristian Romero shares instant response to Heung-Min Son’s Spurs exit news
Tottenham defender Cristian Romero was among the players to respond after a heartfelt exit announcement from a teammate.
It’s been a busy summer for Spurs both on and off the pitch, as new head coach Thomas Frank continues to reshape the squad.
Tottenham have already secured deals for Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus, both of whom have featured during the side’s pre-season tour.
Meanwhile, Romero’s own future in north London remains uncertain. Over the past few months, several top clubs have shown interest in the defender.
Football Insider previously revealed that both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid had expressed interest in Romero, though no significant progress has been made so far.
Despite the speculation surrounding his next move, the Argentine took a moment to react to a teammate’s emotional farewell message whilst on pre-season tour.

Heung-Min Son confirms Tottenham exit in emotional statement
As Tottenham’s squad arrived in South Korea ahead of their upcoming fixture against Newcastle on 3 August, Heung-Min Son made a major announcement during a press conference, confirming he will leave the club this summer.
The Spurs captain described the decision as “the most difficult one I have made in my career” adding that he is “very proud” to leave the club “as a grown man.”
Tottenham’s official Instagram account shared the news shortly after, with several teammates including Romero and Destiny Udogie showing support by liking the post.
This development follows Football Insider revealing Tottenham are open to cashing in on Son should a “huge” offer arrive, with MLS side LAFC among those expressing interest.
The 33-year-old has just one year remaining on his current deal after Spurs triggered a short-term extension earlier this year. However, an exit appears to be on the cards.
Since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has become a club icon, netting 173 goals in 454 appearances and recently helping Spurs end their 17-year trophy drought by lifting the Europa League.

Tottenham suffer blow in Kobbie Mainoo pursuit
While Tottenham are preparing for potential high-profile departures, they’ve also hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo.
Football Insider revealed Tottenham had considered making a move for the English international but Mainoo now looks set to stay at Man United.
Man United were willing to accept £70million bids for Mainoo to raise funds, but it now seems as if the 20-year-old will stay put, delivering a significant blow to Spurs’ hopes of adding him to their midfield ranks.
