Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Al-Nassr fans after surprise exclusion

Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to Al-Nassr fans letting them know he is ‘working hard’ to make his return for their Saudi Pro League game against Al-Wehda.

The 39-year-old was a surprise exclusion from their 2-1 King’s Cup win over Al Hazem after new manager Stefano Pioli opted to rest him.

Ronaldo’s side are heavy favorites for their Saudi Pro League clash with Al-Wehda, who also have a former Man United striker in Odion Igahlo.

Al-Nassr currently sit in fifth place with two wins and two draws from their first four league games while Al-Wehda are down in 14th.

Former AC Milan manager Pioli was brought in to replace Portuguese manager Luis Castro who was sacked just three games into the season.

The legendary Portuguese forward continues to break records, recently becoming football’s all-time leading goalscorer and the first to score over 900 competitive goals.

Unsurprisingly, he’s started this season just as impressively as the previous 24, scoring five goals in six games across all competitions for the Saudi giants.

Ronaldo took to Instagram to let fans know that he is ‘working hard’ ahead of his expected return on Friday (September 27).

The forward’s return is well-timed after their game against Al-Wehda they face Qatari side Qatari side Al-Rayyan in a crucial AFC Champions League encounter on Monday (September 30).

A rested and refreshed Ronaldo is a dangerous thing, there is no doubt he will be eyeing up teammate Anderson Talisca at the top of the Saudi Pro League scoring charts.
