Crystal Palace fear Oliver Glasner to quit and join Premier League rivals
Crystal Palace fear losing Oliver Glasner to a Premier League rival with clubs keeping a close eye on his situation at Selhurst Park.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 51-year-old’s future with less than a year remaining on his contract.
This comes after the boss threatened to walk away from his position if Marc Guehi was sold to Liverpool on deadline day, heightening tensions behind the scenes.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 3 September that Glasner is “highly likely” to leave Palace at the end of the season.
Disagreements with the chairman over transfer strategy have cast doubts over his future, despite having led Palace to their first ever major trophy and European qualification.
It is as a result of that success that Man United are believed to be eyeing Glasner should they opt to replace Ruben Amorim with pressure growing on his situation.

Oliver Glasner could quit Crystal Palace after ‘frustrated’ reveal
Football Insider revealed on 17 August that Glasner has grown frustrated at Crystal Palace as a result of the lack of direction and ambition shown in the transfer market.
While the window looks a positive one for Palace in hindsight, with five new players brought in to strengthen, the lasting impact will mostly be seen behind the scenes.
O’Rourke explained that clubs both in the Premier League and across Europe are keeping an eye on the manager, who remains in control of his own destiny.
“Glasner himself knows that he’s in a strong position,” he told Football Insider.
“Things have gotten a bit tense behind the scenes, there’s no getting away from that.
“He’s in the final year of his contract, so he hold the power in terms of his long-term future.

“I’m sure there’ll be other clubs in the Premier League and across Europe who will be keeping tabs on the situation as well.
“So for Palace, it might not only be a case of worrying about losing their best players, they might be set to lose their manager at some point in the future too.
“Glasner is in control of his own destiny now with his contract running down.”
Liverpool at fault for Marc Guehi collapse after late move
Tension about Glasner’s future at Selhurst Park was heightened by the debate over Guehi’s future on deadline day, with the decision ultimately made to keep him.
Football Insider revealed on 5 September that Palace were prepared to sell Guehi in June or July and had a number of potential replacements lined up.

Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande was a top target, but they were unable to make a move before selling Guehi as they planned to accept £40million offers.
However, the Reds opted to delay their pursuit and focus on other targets, with Palace not willing to risk their financial security in case no bid arrived for their captain.
