Crystal Palace hatch new plan to keep Oliver Glasner after Man United latest
Crystal Palace are extremely reluctant to see Oliver Glasner walk away at the end of his contract and are making plans to convince him to stay at Selhurst Park.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that efforts are being made behind the scenes to convince Glasner to stay.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider on 23 September that Glasner could quit Crystal Palace if the club fail to match his ambitions both on and off the pitch.
The manager’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season as things stand, with growing fears the Eagles will struggle to keep him at the club.
Football Insider revealed on 19 September that Man United see Glasner as an option to replace Ruben Amorim if they decide to sack the under-pressure boss.

Crystal Palace will ‘bend over backwards’ to agree Oliver Glasner deal
Brown first told Football Insider in March that Palace want Glasner to sign a new contract and have been pushing to reach an agreement amid fears he could quit.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United, insisted Palace are “bending over backwards” in attempts to hand him a new deal.
“It’s something Palace have wanted to do for a long time,” he told Football Insider.
“If possible, they’re going to bend over backwards in their efforts to keep Glasner at the club and tie him down to a new contract before it’s too late.
“Whether that means being active in the transfer market or showing him their long-term vision with him at the helm, it’s something they’re trying to get done.
“So I don’t doubt they’ll be speaking about it behind the scenes to see what it might take.
“He speaks very well, he doesn’t ruffle too many feathers and he’s not afraid to be ambitious as we’ve seen so far in his time at Palace.

“I’ve heard good things about his work on the training ground and he gets the best out of his players as we’ve seen through the success they’ve had.
“So with teams like Man United seemingly having a look at him, they’re not going to want to see him go without making major efforts to keep him.
“The progress Palace have made since he came in has been clear, and it will be a big blow for them to lose him if they can’t get him tied down.”
With speculation about the manager’s future ongoing behind the scenes, the Eagles are aware the losing him would be a major setback to their ambitious plans.
Man United plot Glasner swoop amid Crystal Palace fears
Football Insider revealed on 6 September that Crystal Palace fear Glasner could join a Premier League rival amid ongoing uncertainty over his future.
Reports of clashes between the manager and chairman Steve Parish led to claims that Glasner threatened to resign if Marc Guehi was sold – although he has disputed this claim.
As a result, speculation about his future has been bubbling, with Man United emerging as key contenders to swoop should he become available.

Football Insider revealed on 22 September that Glasner is on Man United’s three-man shortlist of options to replace Amorim should he be sacked this season.
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who is in a similar contract situation, is also on the list alongside Fulham manager Marco Silva.
