‘Crystal Palace have a gem’ – ‘Sensational’ Tayo Adaramola stuns for Bradford City

Crystal Palace can start getting excited as they have a star in the making in Tayo Adaramola, who stole the show for Bradford City.

The 21-year-old joined the Bantams on-loan in February and has immediately impressed at his new club.

Adaramola had initially moved to Stockport at the beginning of the season, but having struggling to break into the team, making just six appearances in the league, he was recalled.

The loan move is the fourth of the Ireland U21 international’s career and having spent time in Belgium and at Coventry, he is finally living up to expectations under manager Graham Alexander.

Tayo Adaramola ‘sensational’ in 4-1 thumping of Colchester

The 21-year-old left-back registered an assist for Bradford in their 4-1 dismantling of Colchester City on Saturday (22 March).

With the international break putting a pause on top-flight football, in-demand Oliver Glasner likely will have been using it as a chance to check out how his young loan stars were getting on.

Adaramola’s dangerous attacking breaks were a joy to watch and he pairs them with a strong tackle, showcasing his ability to do the role of a modern wing-back, going forwards and back.

The youngster’s performance caught the eye of Mark Douglas, a northern football correspondent for The i, who posted on X: “Sensational today. Crystal Palace, you have a gem in Tayo Adaramola. Everyone bang at it.”

Tayo Adaramola to be understudy for Tyrick Mitchell next year

Football Insider Verdict

Following in the footsteps of January Arsenal target Tyrick Mitchell, Adaramola will be hoping to progress through the Palace academy into the first team.

The young Irishman may be given the chance to act as understudy for the 25-year-old next year, as the depth behind the current starter will be limited if Ben Chilwell does not extend his loan, or sign permanently in the summer.

What’s more, Adaramola is currently playing as a left wing-back at Bradford, as he would in Glasner‘s system, giving him the perfect opportunity to develop in a manner which sets him up to be first-team ready next year.

The Eagles’ manager has shown a willingness to give young players a chance, with Justin Devenny, Man City target Adam Wharton and Caleb Kporha all involved regularly this season, so the future looks bright for another one off the production line.
