Crystal Palace facing nightmare Marc Guehi scenario: ‘Against the clock’
Crystal Palace have been handed a Marc Guehi transfer warning amid interest from Premier League champions Liverpool.
The Palace captain enjoyed an outstanding campaign last term, helping the Eagles win the FA Cup with a win over Manchester City at Wembley.
Thanks to his strong performances at Selhurst Park, Guehi has attracted interest from Liverpool as Arne Slot looks to strengthen his squad further.
Jarrell Quansah is closing in on a move to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving the Reds in need of a new centre-back to compete with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.

Crystal Palace urged to sell Guehi
The England international has entered the final year of his Crystal Palace contract, after the Eagles turned down interest in his services from Newcastle United last summer.
That leaves the South London club with the potential fate of parting company with Guehi on a free transfer in 2026.
But speaking live on talkSPORT [23 June], former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan urged the Selhurst Park side to cash in on the defender: “Sell him unless you can tie him down, and you’re not going to tie him down, are you?
“They took the roll of the dice last year, they didn’t take Newcastle’s money, and now they’re against the clock.
“So what do you get? You get nothing. And then you’ve got to go and buy a centre-back, so you might as well sell him.”
Guehi faces major transfer decision
Football Insider verdict
As reported by BBC Sport [23 June], John Textor has sold his shares in Crystal Palace to Woody Johnson, which could bolster the South London club’s chances of competing in next season’s Europa League.

The Eagles sealed European qualification via their historic FA Cup triumph, but UEFA’s rules over multi-club ownership have cast doubt over whether they can compete in the Europa League, thanks to Textor’s stakes in French side Lyon.
If Palace are cleared to compete in Europe, Guehi must decide whether to remain in South London or to join the Premier League champions.
A move to Merseyside would present itself as a major opportunity, as the defender could be playing alongside the likes of Mohamed Salah and Florian Wirtz.
However, the 24-year-old must also consider whether he would enjoy regular game time amid the presence of Van Dijk and Konate, with just one year to go until the 2026 World Cup.
