‘Crystal Palace plan to accept Saudi offer for Odsonne Edouard’
Crystal Palace are planning to accept offers for Odsonne Edouard to leave on a permanent basis after his failed loan spell at Leicester City.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that clubs in the MLS and Saudi Arabia have been keeping an eye on his situation.
Edouard was subject to interest from MLS outfit Atlanta United in January, but remained at Leicester where he played just 113 minutes across all competitions.
After a difficult loan spell at the King Power, Brown told Football Insider in December that Palace would look to sell Edouard if he returned to the club mid-season.
The striker has just one year remaining on his contract after Palace extended his terms last summer, and this represents their last chance to raise funds from his sale.
Meanwhile, Celtic have been linked with re-signing Edouard since last summer, after the striker left Parkhead to move to Selhurst Park for £14million in 2021.

Odsonne Edouard has no future at Crystal Palace after exit latest
Brown told Football Insider in December that Edouard has no future at Crystal Palace as the club were unwilling to take him back from his dismal loan spell.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has explained that the best move for all parties is to agree to a permanent exit.
“Crystal Palace want to sell Edouard permanently,” he told Football Insider.
“He was given the opportunity to go to Leicester and make a difference there, but he hasn’t done that.
“If he’s not good enough for Leicester, how’s he going to be good enough for Crystal Palace?
“That’s not exactly a great sales pitch for Palace if they want to get big money for him.
“From what I’m told, there are clubs in the MLS and Saudi Arabia who have been looking at him, so that could be their best bet.
“He wasn’t sure about the move to America, but to be frank he might not have much of a choice.
“After struggling in the Premier League, to the point where you can’t get a game for a relegated side, it’s difficult to know where he goes from there.
“But it won’t be at Palace, that’s for sure, so it would be best for all parties if they could sell him on.”

Newcastle United plot cut-price Marc Guehi deal
Edouard is not the only player who could be leaving Selhurst Park for good this summer, as Marc Guehi has been heavily linked with a move away.
Brown told Football Insider on 5 May that Newcastle remain interested in Guehi and could land him for a cut-price deal after failing with a £70million bid last year.
The centre-back will have just one year remaining on his deal come June and the Eagles are now prepared to see him leave the club.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Palace have begun planning to replace Guehi as they accept he will leave at the end of the season.
