‘Crystal Palace prepare for Eberechi Eze to join Noni Madueke at Arsenal’
Eberechi Eze is looking set to join Noni Madueke at Arsenal this summer after Crystal Palace suffered a fresh blow to their chances of keeping hold of their star man.
Eze was at the forefront of Palace’s success last season as they ended their long wait for silverware by winning the FA Cup against Man City in May.
The England international has grown into one of the Premier League’s biggest talents over the last few seasons at Selhurst Park, and former scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in May that Bayern Munich are considering a move for Eze after the success of Michael Olise’s move from the Eagles to the German giants.
Brown also told Football Insider on 6 July that Arsenal are weighing up whether to sign Eze and have held internal discussions about triggering his release clause, so it is clear that he is a wanted man this summer.
With Arsenal’s interest growing, a new update at Palace could be hinting at his departure in the coming weeks after they suffered a huge setback in their plans to keep Eze for the forthcoming campaign.

Palace prepare for Eze exit amid Europa League blow and kit launch surprise
Arsenal are planning to make contact with Palace chairman Steve Parish to discuss a potential move for Eze soon [The Guardian], and their hopes of adding him to their squad this summer have been handed a significant boost following news of the Eagles’ demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League on Friday, 11 July.
UEFA confirmed that Lyon are set to be allowed to partake in the Europa League, after they were recently reinstated back into Ligue 1, and so Palace will drop down to Europe’s third-rate competition due to an apparent conflict of interest regarding John Textor’s multi-club ownership group.
That serves as a huge blow to the Selhurst Park outfit’s chances of keeping Eze, and if that wasn’t enough, he was also missing from their 2025/26 kit launch on Friday, which saw high-profile Eagles stars like Jean-Philippe Mateta, Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton, among others, pictured modelling Macron’s new design.
There was no sign of the Arsenal-linked playmaker though, which hints at a likely exit in the coming weeks, as they are clearly not confident he will remain in their plans going forward.
The Gunners are moving closer to signing Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, and they look set to complete a double-swoop of attackers from London-based clubs with Eze also seemingly on his way to the Emirates.
Eze could be best served staying at Palace
Eze’s talents know no bounds, and despite him now being 27, it does feel as if he has even more to give and better seasons to come than his most recent impressive effort.
It comes as no surprise to see him linked with moves to some of the world’s biggest clubs in Bayern and Arsenal, but from a personal point of view in terms of on-field opportunities, joining either side could turn out to be a mistake this summer.

He is the main man at Palace, where if he was to join either Bayern or Arsenal, he would simply be another cog in a system, and would face the threat of playing a large part of the season off the bench due to their respective plethora of options in attacking positions.
Eze should look to stay at Selhurst Park this summer solely for that reason, as another stellar season for the Eagles in the league and Europe would surely see him picked in the England squad for next year’s World Cup regardless, which will likely be his main current aim.
A move away certainly does seem likely now, however, and Palace will simply have to hope that they can smartly reinvest the potential fee received for him this summer as they prepare to enter the Conference League to try and win it.
