Crystal Palace ‘set sights’ on signing Bayern Munich star in January
Crystal Palace have set their sights on a move to sign Bayern Munich right-back Sacha Boey ahead of the January transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Crystal Palace are keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old’s situation in Munich.
The Eagles had originally identified Boey as a target during his time at Galatasaray, before he made the £25million move to the Bundesliga in January 2024.
However, he has made just 37 appearances in almost two years at Bayern Munich, and has started just six games so far this season, raising questions about his future.
As a result, Palace have been alerted to his potential availability, with the South London club keen to bolster their depth at right-back.

Crystal Palace set sights on Sacha Boey in January
Brown told Football Insider on 11 November that Crystal Palace are planning to back Oliver Glasner when the mid-season window opens to add depth to his squad.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that Boey is one of the names on their radar ahead of the January window.
“Crystal Palace will be among the clubs looking at Boey,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ve done well with that type of player before, and have picked up players who may not have quite cut it or may not be seen as good enough elsewhere.
“They see things in these players, qualities they can work on that would fit the way they play.
“Look at Mateta, for example, he scored again for France during the break, and would anybody have expected that before Palace did their thing?
“Boey plays in a position where Palace have been looking to strengthen, and he’s been somebody who they have been aware of for a while.

“If he isn’t quite doing it for Bayern Munich, maybe they feel he would be better suited at Palace.
“They have a knack of getting the best out of these types of player, so if he becomes available, I’m sure it will be something they look to explore in January.”
Daniel Munoz drops Crystal Palace exit hint
Palace’s interest in signing a new right-back comes amid speculation surrounding the future of Daniel Munoz, with links to the likes of PSG, Chelsea and Barcelona.
Brown told Football Insider that Man United could explore a move to sign Munoz after his comments about leaving Selhurst Park in the winter transfer window.
Munoz has opened the door to joining Man United after admitting it would be a “dream” to play for the likes of United, Barcelona, PSG or Real Madrid.

The Crystal Palace wing-back has been a star name under Glasner and played a vital role in the Eagles lifting the FA Cup against Man City last season.
As a result, they are understood to be reluctant to lose their star man who also admitted he is happy at Selhurst Park, but could be put under pressure to sell.
