Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze reacts to Daniel Munoz amid Arsenal links

Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze continues to create speculation around his future as a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal intensifies.

It was exclusively revealed by Football Insider that Eze wants to join Arsenal this summer, and the Gunners are prepared to pay the £68million release clause in his contract.

Eze is expected to leave Selhurst Park this summer following five seasons at the South London club, following his arrival from QPR in 2020.

Tottenham and Liverpool have also held interest in the 27-year-old, but Spurs have moved for Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and the Reds spent £100m to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Palace star posts amid Eze uncertainty

Daniel Munoz took to Instagram to share pictures from his holidays, which Eze liked, as players return to pre-season training.

Munoz was a key player at wing-back for Palace last season, as they won the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

The Colombian also chipped in with six goals and eight assists across all competitions across the campaign.

Despite winning the FA Cup, Palace look set to play in the Europa Conference League next season following UEFA’s verdict over multi-club ownership rules.

Problems for Arteta if Eze deal can be completed

Football Insider Verdict

Eze has been an influential player for Palace, but following the club’s demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League, the midfielder may want to move on to play at a higher level.

Arsenal do not want to pay the release clause in full, so there is still a final hurdle to overcome until a deal can be completed.

There will be fierce competition for Eze at Arsenal with captain Martin Odegaard and right winger Bukayo Saka unlikely to be dropped by Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard is also about to purchase Noni Madueke for the left flank and Gabriel Martinelli has been first choice in that position over the past few seasons.

If a deal for Eze is completed it could signal the departure of Martinelli, who has been monitored by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Arteta would certainly have creativity and extra flair in his squad to create chances for striker Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to arrive from Sporting, as they eye up the Premier League title.
