Curtis Jones sends five-word message to Alexander-Arnold after ‘staying’ claim
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has taken to social media to share an image of “the scousers in the team” after their 5-0 Premier League win over West Ham on Sunday (December 29).
Both Jones, 23, and Alexander-Arnold, 26, made goal contributions as Arne Slot’s side easily dispatched West Ham in their last game of 2024.
Lucas Paqueta gave Liverpool an early scare but slipped and was unable to convert Mohammed Kudus’ low cross.
Luis Diaz then opened the scoring on the half-hour mark before Cody Gakpo doubled the visitor’s lead just ten minutes later thanks to some fancy footwork from Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian then got in on the act to make it 3-0 just before half-time, scoring his 17th Premier League in his 18 games, assisted by Jones.
Diogo Jota then rounded off the scoring in the 84th minute as Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points.

Jones continues to enjoy a breakout season under Slot, starting 14 of his 22 games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing five assists in 1243 minutes of action.
Alexander-Arnold has been a key player for eight years now and this season has been no different, starting 22 of his 23 games, scoring one goal, and providing five assists in his 1771 minutes on the field.
The right-back’s future at the club remains unclear despite his good form with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, along with that of Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, the defender has told his boyhood club that he has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid and won’t be signing a new deal.
Jones took to Instagram after the win over West Ham to send a homely message to his teammate, captioning an image of the two with: “The scousers in our team,” in reference to the Kop’s chant about Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool will start 2025 off with a bang, hosting Ruben Amorim’s struggling Man United side in their first game of the new year on Sunday (January 5).
The Premier League leaders will then turn their attention to retaining the League Cup as they prepare for a game with Ange Postecoglu’s unpredictable Tottenham.
